What's in a name?

My head has been aching continuously for two days now…so what I do? I Google Head aches. This is one of my newly acquired habits. Every time my stomach, teeth or any other organ or part aches, I do an extensive Google search just to be on the safer side. I don’t want to look back and regret tomorrow that I didn’t do enough to save myself from all the diseases in the world. Everyday a new disease is talked about in the paper and I skim through the paper, studying in detail all the symptoms.

Every time I Google something, the search results leave me feeling more perplexed than ever. It doesn’t enlighten me one bit. There are millions of reasons, causes, symptoms for diseases and every time I go through these lists of symptoms, it’s a 100% match. Even if it’s not, my mind tells me otherwise. It says, “There! Look at that symptom; you surely have it…don’t you?” I rush to my doctor as soon as I catch a cold and start coughing. He smiles at me and tells me, it’s nothing but a common cold. Common?

Whoever named these diseases surely did it to ruin our day. Laryngitis, Meningitis…Mention these words in your conversation and see how many hit the bed. It will take about three days to recuperate. When somebody names these diseases, he/she does it with a scientific bent of mind so it’s still fine. But, what I really cannot understand is why some people try their creative skills when it comes to naming their child. I had two neighbors, ‘Smart’ and ‘Difficult’. Names like these are not so common and once you stumble across people with such names it’s hard to forget them.

Headaches are devilish things, aren't they? You can never tell exactly where it aches. I usually try hanging upside down for a minute. I hope you've recovered from yours now.

Hey, I like your blog! It's really creative. :)
I think the competition now with names is to see how different a name can be. Parents are like... you can't name her Emily, that's too common! How about... Xanthippe?
There's apparently been some study done where they figured out what named kids are most likely to be successful. The kids with the weird names were more likely and I think the least likely were guys named Herbert or Walter or something. So... I guess it's scientific?

Smart and Difficult?
Seriously?

Well, that's quite odd ..but then again, it's unique, so all is fine, I suppose :)

Get well soon, okay?

Kasa,
I didn't realize you were back. I'm so happy to see you. Love the new look. My husband once felt ill while he was driving to work (don't we all). When he arrived, he googled his symptoms and google told him to go see a doctor, which he did. His blood pressure was out of whack. Google is like everybody's grandma.

I'm that way too. Every single symptom I always feel the need to google it and behold, right before my eyes I have a diagnosis of whatever it is that I have. =)
